EAS Status for Marathon Sunday is GREEN
EVENT ALERT SYSTEM

A color-coded Event Alert System (EAS) will be used to communicate the status of course conditions to participants leading up to and on race day. The levels range from Low (green) to Moderate (yellow) to High (red) to Extreme (black) based primarily on the weather, as well as other conditions.
The DONNA Medical Director Dr. Walter Taylor and Meteorologist Tim Deegan along with the rest of the Race Communications team, will determine and execute the specific alert level on race day.
- E-mail, Facebook, Twitter and website communication during race week will inform participants of the current Event Alert System status and provide preparation tips based on advance weather forecasts.
- Updates will be made at the DONNA Expo via public address announcements and color-coded flags will be displayed in the packet pickup area indicating current levels.
- On race day, the current Event Alert System status will be communicated via public address announcements and color-coded signs/flags at the start and finish areas, and along the course at each of the aid station locations.
- All participants should familiarize themselves with the Event Alert System prior to the race, remain alert for directions from race officials and announcers and take precautions to prepare properly for varying weather conditions on race day.
Medical Aid Station and Medical Personnel
There are eight medical aid stations along the marathon course and a medical field station at the start and finish line. Medical personnel will be wearing red shirts and some will be on bikes riding the race course. Medical response team utilizes bicycles.
Marathon Personnel
Marathon personnel will have radios and phones to contact emergency personnel quickly.
Police Officers
Officers will be location at all major intersections where traffic intersects the course, in addition to patrolling the course.
Volunteers
There are thousands of volunteers on marathon weekend. Most are not associated with the event except for one weekend a year, so please understand they may not have the answers to all your questions. However, in an emergency, do not hesitate to go to them for assistance as they may know how to get help quickly. Some will have communication equipment as well.
RULES OF THE ROAD
- No one is allowed on the course without a properly issued race number.
- Help keep the course beautiful by not littering. Respect the property of others while spectating.
- No vehicles of any kind are allowed on the course. The course can be crossed at designated intersections.
- No bikers are allowed on the course except for authorized race officials.
- No strollers or anything with wheels allowed on the course!
- Spectators must stay clear of the course and off the roads to avoid interfering with the participants.
- Spectators must hold animals on a short leash. Keep them away from the runners and be considerate of others.
- Watch your children at all times. There will be thousands of participants and spectators at the event.
